Privacy Policy — Namma Taxi
Effective 8 November 2026. Applies to the Namma Taxi, Namma Taxi Driver and Namma Taxi Partner apps and to nammataxi.in.
Namma Taxi ("we") is a taxi booking service operated from Karur, Tamil Nadu, India. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose; write to privacy@nammataxi.in if anything is unclear.
What we collect

We do not collect contacts, photos other than the documents you choose to upload, microphone, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.
Location, specifically
- The rider app uses location only while it is open, to place your pickup and show cars nearby.
- The driver app uses location only while it is open and you have switched Online. It is shared with the rider who booked you and with the office dispatch. Switch Offline or close the app and sharing stops. Version 1 does not request background location.
Who sees your data
- The driver and rider on the same trip see each other's first name, rating, vehicle and a phone call route. Riders see the driver's photo and plate.
- Our Karur office staff see what they need to verify drivers, run dispatch and handle incidents, under a written access rule.
- Processors acting on our instructions: cloud hosting, SMS delivery (one-time passcodes and trip confirmations), map tiles and routing. They may not use the data for their own purposes.
- Police or courts when the law requires it, or to respond to a safety incident.
Your choices
- See and correct your details in the app under your profile, or ask us.
- Delete your account in the app (Menu → Help & safety → Delete account) or at nammataxi.in/delete-account. We anonymise your account immediately. Trip and payment records that the law requires us to keep are retained without your name or number for the statutory period.
- Location: control it in your phone's settings; the apps still work for phone bookings through the office.
Children
Our services are for people aged 18 and over.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, access is role-based and logged, and documents are stored separately from trip data.
Changes
We will post changes here and notify you in the app for anything material.
